Stain Removal Tips

Act Quickly - Blot the spot, don't rub or scrub or you'll make matters worse.
Soak up liquids with white kitchen roll, paper tissues, sponge, toilet roll, or clean absorbent cloth. Scoop up or scrape off solids with a blunt edged spoon or palette knife.
Add the detergent: the wrong cleaning solution can actually make the damage permanent. Know what king of stain you are working on and always work from the outside to centre so the stain doesn't spread.
Apply all cleaning detergents to a white towel, never directly to the carpet. Use detergents at recommended dilution ratios.
Rinse with clear warm water. You may use a wet/dry vacuum to extract excess moisture, prior to using a towel, if you have one but this is not necessary. You can rinse and dry the spot, if possible, with a hair dryer. Repeat until all the detergent is removed. Avoid over wetting the carpet backing during spot cleaning and rising. When the carpet is dry, vacuum to restore the texture.
Difficult spots may require repeated attempts with stronger spot removers.
